International Studies Major
Hometown: Maple Hts., Ohio
What are you currently doing?
I am a master of arts candidate in international education at the School for International Training (SIT) in Vermont. I will graduate in 2014.
How did BW prepare you for graduate school?
I learned to be flexible and employ many different lens to view problems. This has been useful in my work in international education and with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.
How did your BW faculty mentor helping you succeed?
In my junior year, I was accepted as a program fellow for the highly competitive Institute for International Public Policy. I was among students from top U.S. universities. This program has been instrumental to my success. BW's Dr. Judy Krutky (international studies) guided me through the application process and beyond. Years later, she still gives me advice.
What makes BW's international studies program special?
The level of professionalism and experience of the professors is impressive. They are supportive and giving of their time. Studies focus on real-world applications of the theories taught. The emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of life and issues is special, too.
