Having patients…encouraging patience.

Exciting, challenging and rewarding, physical therapy is a people-focused, service-oriented profession that is at the forefront of today’s healthcare system.

Our program is comprehensive, theoretical and practical.  You’ll learn the skills to encourage maneuverability and mobility, as well as gain coaching insights that can help effect client motivation and modification.

Strong academics
Real-world focused, our program combines the strengths of a liberal arts foundation with specialized coursework in pre-physical therapy.  Through hands-on initiatives and classroom studies, our program provides a solid foundation for post-graduate success.

Experiential
Nearby to Cleveland and its range of hospitals, corporations and public health organizations, B-W’s location is suited to a range of internship possibilities.  In addition, we have community outreach initiatives, study abroad programs and student organizations that can help you develop your career potential.

Renovated facilities
Lou Higgins Center offers expanded and updated workout spaces, classrooms, a state-of-the art athletic training facility, among other amenities.

Chatham College Partnership
An exciting partnership with Chatham College (Pittsburgh) offers B-W students a direct link into Chatham’s post graduate physical therapy, occupational therapy and physician assistant programs.

Ambassador Program at the University of St. Augustine

The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences has an Ambassador Agreement with Baldwin-Wallace College. This agreement provides an educational track that will permit a student to select both an undergraduate major and a “targeted” post baccalaureate admission to the University of St. Augustine entry-level program in either Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.

The student that will select this targeted program track will meet both B-W’s academic requirements and the academic requirements for the completion of stated prerequisite courses for admission to the health care programs at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. This Ambassador Program will facilitate the student’s efforts toward accomplishing academic goals and professional development by providing appropriate counseling and guidance to expedite acceptance into our graduate programs. To find out more about this opportunity contact: Dr. Amy Jo Sutterluety at asutterl@bw.edu.

Rapidly growing profession
Pre-physical therapy offers solid career opportunities.  Students who complete our program can pursue graduate education in physical therapy, physician assistance, chiropractics, podiatry and nursing.

Offered as a major.
