ALUMNI SUCCESS: Pre-physical therapy alumni Ellen Fedick '14 and Becky Russell '14 have landed in top graduate school programs. Fedick is enrolled in the physician's assistant program at Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, Tenn.) and Russell is enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh in its top-ranked physical therapy graduate program.

STUDENT SUCCESS: PrePT and public health major Jen Evans ’13, will be attending Ohio State University to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. BW Pre-Physical Therapy program boasts a 97% acceptance rate for students who apply to a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.

Impressive 39% Career Growth

According to the 2012-13 Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment of physical therapists is expected to increase 39 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations.


Students who complete BW's pre-physical therapy program can pursue graduate education in physical therapy, physician assistance, chiropractics, podiatry and nursing.

Our pre-physical therapy program blends the critical thinking and problem-solving skills inherent to a liberal arts-focused education with specialized coursework and hands-on learning. 

Our rigorous studies include a strong science foundation, lab and research applications, clinical visits, community outreach initiatives and co-curricular opportunities, including our Pre-Physical Therapy/Exercise Science Student Organization.

You’ll gain the skills necessary for success in client/patient interaction, assessment and evaluation of client/patient needs, and integration of this information into a rehabilitation or exercise program.

Chatham College Partnership

Our exciting partnership with Chatham College (Pittsburgh) offers a direct link into Chatham's post graduate physical therapy and occupational therapy.

Ambassador Program at the University of St. Augustine

We offer an Ambassador Agreement with The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. This agreement provides an educational track that allows a student to select both an undergraduate major and a targeted post baccalaureate admission to the University of St. Augustine entry-level program in either occupational therapy or physical therapy. D'Youville College Partnership
