From chic to Champs-Elysées and fondue to faux pas, French is a popular language whose influences in fashion, art, food and contemporary linguistic expressions make it an excellent choice for students preparing for careers in the fine arts, sciences, business fields and more.

 
Comprehensive
You’ll gain competencies in reading, writing, speaking and language comprehension. You’ll also learn about French literature and civilization.


Engaging
Interactive and integrated, B-W’s French program offers you participative classroom discussion and field trips to restaurants, films and other cultural events.  In addition, you can join our French language table and student organizations.


Study abroad
Immerse yourself in another culture and make the world your classroom. Whether you visit France, Quebec or another French-influenced area, you can travel, study at a university, and earn B-W credit for courses, independent study projects and/or field experiences.


Languages Across Curriculum
An interdisciplinary approach to learning, this program allows you to practice your foreign language skills while earning credit in non-language courses.


Career versatile
French can be a companion major/minor for another program of study, such as music, English, history, international studies, philosophy and business.  Career positions include:
