Each semester, approximately 400 students, representing over one hundred and fifty colleges and universities around the nation, participate in AU's Washington Semester program. The Washington Semester experience provides students with an intensive and highly interactive curriculum that transcends ordinary classroom learning. The 16-week immersion program is housed on AU's Tenley Campus in the upper northwest section of Washington DC. Participants focus in one of 12 areas of study: American Politics, The Arts, Economic Policy, Foreign Policy, Inter'l Business & Trade, Inter'l Environment & Development, Journalism,
Justice, Peace & Conflict Resolution, Public Law, Transforming Communities, Women & Public Policy. Your time is spent working at your internship, attending weekly seminars with fellow participants, and completing a research project.
