BE THERE!
Published annually in the spring, The Mill welcomes submissions of poetry, short stories, plays, creative non-fiction, artwork, and photography by students of all majors. Recently publishing the two largest issues in its history, The Mill has become one of the primary vehicles of creative expression in the Baldwin-Wallace community, and is working hard to increase its inclusiveness. Its release party in the spring, during which published writers read their work and artists and photographers talk about their pictures, draws a substantial crowd and is a lot of fun.The Mill also sponsors readings each year by poets and story writers of both local and national reputation.
To work on the selection staff of The Mill is to become part of a small, closely-knit community of kindred spirits united by their love of the arts. Ads inviting applications by any B-W student for selection staff, technical editor, and art editor appear in the fall on posters and in The Exponent, and the student editor traditionally chooses a staff of about 8-9 people. Submissions are voted upon with names removed to ensure greater objectivity, and there are limits to the number of works publishable by any one author.
