
Before joining the B-W faculty in 2005, Dr. Wisniewski worked in Upper Arlington City Schools, Akron Public Schools, and private practice. Administratively, she was a Reading Specialist, Student Development Specialist, and Counseling Coordinator at Kent State University's Academic Success Center. She has taught to Kent State University's main campus and Stark campuses and at the University of Akron.
Dr. Wisniewski has published and delivered convention sessions in the fields of college learning, reading and literacy, human services, and school psychology. Among her national, state, and local presentations and workshops are topics of transformative learning college transition and success, brain research and memory strategies, visual and media literacy, ADHD coaching, reading engagement, standardized testing, and classroom assessment. In multicultural education, Dr. Wisniewski has presented in areas of internalized homophobia, educator responsibilities for glbt youth, identity awareness, unlearning oppression, and school legal liability.
Dr. Wisniewski holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University and an Equivalency Doctorate in School Psychology granted by the Ohio State Board of Psychology. She also holds Ed.S. and M.Ed. degrees in School Psychology, a B.A. in psychology, and a B.B.A. in business marketing, and is a state licensed and nationally certified school psychologist.
