Organ
Under the direction of B-W Conservatory organ and harpsichord faculty member Jonathan Moyer, the organ program offers students the opportunity to focus on a variety of keyboard skills. Organ literature, technique, memorization, signt-reading, chamber music, and accompanying are among the topics addressed. Organ participants receive five 45-minute private organ lessons in addition to two 30-minute private lessons on a secondary instrument of their choosing (choices include: harpsichord, piano or voice). In addition to music theory and solfège classes, students participate in master classes and the Institute Singers. Organ students will have access to the wide collection of organs at the B-W Conservatory of Music for practice and exploration. All organ participants perform in a recital on the final Friday evening of SMI.
