Piano Camp Typical Day
A camper's day begins early! The first activity of the day starts at 8:30 a.m. and both resident and day campers are kept busy. A typical daily schedule might go like this:
8:30 a.m. - Music Theory Class
9:30 a.m. - Private Lesson
10:00 a.m. - Supervised Practice
10:30 a.m. - Group Piano Duet and Chamber Music Class
12:00 p.m. - Lunch
1:00 p.m. - Recital Hour
2:00 p.m. - Recreation
3:30 p.m. - Master Class
5:00 p.m. - Dinner
6:30 p.m. - Music Elective Class
8:00 p.m. - Evening Activity
10:30 p.m. - Lights Out
Each piano camp student will receive four 20-minute private lessons during the camp. In addition, they will participate in staff-supervised private practice time each day. Music electives may include jazz improvisation, organ or harpsichord. Each student will perform in a Piano Camp Recital on Thursday afternoon, June 21.
Afternoon activities may include swimming, outdoors activities, arts and crafts and field games. Evening activities may include trips to Swings-n-Things Family Fun Park, a dance night with DJ, movie night, and the student Talent Show.
