Though the deadline has passed, we do still have limited space available for male voice, viola, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, horn, keyboard and percussion. We have extended the deadline to May 1st for those areas. Call our office if you need more details, (440) 826-8068.
The Conservatory Summer Intensive is a 2 week program for high school students considering studying music in college. This program allows students to step into the shoes of a Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory Music Major and work directly with the BW Conservatory of Music faculty.
Participants will choose between the CSI Track or a Specialized Track.
Common core classes for all participants will include:
- Music Theory / Ear Training
- Major Ensemble (orchestra, wind ensemble, or choir)
- CSI Singers (all CSI choir)
- Private Lessons (2 45-minute lessons)
Specialized Track options include:
- Music Theatre (vocal students only)
- Composition
- Chamber Music (string students only)
- Keyboard Institute (piano & organ students only)
Current high school juniors may also elect to participate in the APP: Audition Preparation Program
Elective courses will include:
- Composition
- Improvisation
- Conducting
- Music Technology
- Group Piano Class
- Group Guitar Class
- Group Voice
- Percussion Ensemble (percussion students only)
Students will participate in workshops throughout the Intensive which explore Careers in Music. Participants can elect to receive additional private lessons in their primary or other chosen instrument.

In lieu of an uploaded or recorded audition, live on-campus auditions will be held at BW's Boesel Musical Arts Center each Saturday in March of 2013 from 10 am to noon.
We must have your completed application and $200 deposit prior to audition.
You may be eligible to have your audition waived if you participate in a selective youth ensemble.
