Communication Disorders

Graduates of Communication Disorders

Since the graduating class of 1999-2000, 100% of the Communication Disorders students applying to graduate school have been accepted. The vast majority attend graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology. The students graduating this will be attending graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology and Neuroscience and Behavior. The students have attended a wide variety of schools nationwide, for example, Ohio State University, University of Akron, Kent State University, Bowling Green State University, Miami University of Ohio, University of Cincinnati, Cleveland State University, University of Pittsburgh, University of Virginia, among many other programs. Many if the students have been awarded graduate school scholarships.

Upon graduation from graduate school, these students have been employed as Speech-Language Pathologists in the following settings: hospitals, rehabilitation centers, school districts, and speech and hearing clinics. They work with adults and children with a broad range of communication disorders.

 

Awards

Every year one Communication Disorders student from B-W is chosen to receive the Outstanding Undergraduate Award from the Ohio Speech-Language and Hearing Association at its annual convention. This years winner is Lindsay Black.

Special Program
