Carmel Living/Learning Center

Living Learning Center

Carmel Living Learning Center

The Living Learning Center is housed in Carmel Residence Hall just across from the Strosacker Student Union.  Carmel houses 139 upperclass and first-year students.  Students in Carmel live in four person suites, two students per room with a shared bathroom that connects the rooms.  Carmel is air conditioned and has a first floor common area kitchen.

While each of the academic programs outlined has somewhat different requirements and features, each program will bring together students and faculty members with shared interests. Students living in Carmel earn academic credit under faculty leadership in at least one common course each semester.  Program faculty will teach the classes and, in conjunction with the residence life staff, design a unique learning process that enriches the academic experience through creative co-curricular assignments and activities. Participation in these out-of-class experiences is an expectation for all living/learning students for the entire academic year.  For more on the philosophy of living/learning see the Living/Learning Compact Statement.
