General Requirements

Upon acceptance into the program, you will receive the Living Learning Center Compact by mail, to which you must return and sign as confirmation of your participation in the program.

In applying for participation in the Living Learning Center Program (LLC), you are advised to consult with your academic advisor regarding courses that are required for your major and when they are offered in the academic year for which you are applying to the LLC.  If you participate in the LLC, you will want to avoid the possibility of conflicts with the LLC courses. Participation in a Living Learning Center Program course sequence is a requirement for living in the Living Learning hall.  Also, living in the LLC is a requirement for enrollment in and participation in a Living Learning Center course sequence.

Your application for participation in the Living Learning Center program is with the understanding that your commitment is for a full year (Fall and Spring semesters) in the course sequence to which you would be accepted. Further, your application for participation in the LLC is with the understanding that switching LLC course sequence sections is contrary to the spirit and purpose of a living learning center and that if, for any reason, it becomes necessary for you to withdraw from or drop a LLC course in the sequence to which you have been accepted it will be necessary to move out of the LLC and you will be ineligible to apply to participate in the LLC for the following academic year.

Other requirements include:

  • Review, have an understanding of, and commit to the LLC Compact Statement
  • A commitment to the LLC community for the entire academic year
  • Participation in academic, residence life, and co-curricular programs that are designed for the building

Plan to arrive on campus Friday, August 22, 2008 for a series of special programs planned prior to the formal start of classes.

Baldwin-Wallace recommends that you print a copy of this application BEFORE you click submit.  Please keep the printed application for your records.
