Dr. Mary Pisnar-Sweeney
Mary Pisnar-Sweeney is an Associate Professor in the Business Administration Division at Baldwin Wallace University. She currently teaches systems management at the graduate level and management, marketing, and Human Relations at the undergraduate level.
Dr. Pisnar's research interests include organizational behavior, gender issues, and labor relations. She has published in Psychological Reports and has two other manuscripts under review by the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences and the British Journal of Industrial Relations. National conference presentations include the Academy of Management, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychologists, and the Institute for Behavioral Management. Current research efforts include; the assessment of emotional intelligence; gender and leadership perceptions; leadership competencies; a joint project conducted with a colleague in Beijing, China which examines career advancement strategies of women in China; a joint historical review of public perception of women in the workforce in the United States during the last 80 years; a joint project analyzing gender differences in union organizing communication tactics; and ongoing research in the area of labor union commitment.
Industry experience of Dr. Pisnar includes work with the Ford Motor Company, USX Kobe Steel, the Bureau of Workmens Compensation, healthcare facilities, and eleven years as a manager and product developer for the May Department Stores.
Dr. Pisnar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ursuline College, a Masters of Business Administration and Doctorate of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.
