During events launching the Center for Innovation and Growth, three community leaders were recognized as the first recipients of B-W's Innovator of the Year Awards, saluting excellent leadership in regional economic development. Each demonstrates the skills and acumen of entrepreneurs when inspiring innovation among others
Donald W. Bogus, Senior Vice President, The Lubrizol Corporation, and President, Noveon, Inc., for his work in the corporate sector
Bogus provides leadership for Noveon, Inc., now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lubrizol Corporation, which is a global supplier of high-performance specialty products for personal care, coatings, plastics, and various industrial products, with headquarters in Brecksville, Ohio. A native of Cleveland, he earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Baldwin-Wallace and serves on the B-W Board of Trustees as well as the Business Division's Advisory Council.

Martin Zanotti, Mayor, City of Parma Heights, for his work in the public sector
Zanotti is one of the leading advocates for a regional approach for local governments in Cuyahoga County. He led the effort, along with Baldwin-Wallace College, to create a common fire district among a number of southwestern suburbs, demonstrating innovation and risk taking for the benefit of the region.

David Morgenthaler, founder, Morgenthaler Ventures, for his work in the private sector
Founder of Morgenthaler Ventures 36 years ago which currently has $2.5 billion under management, Morgenthaler has served as a director, chairman or president of more than 30 companies and has earned a national reputation as a venture capital investor. He has or is serving on the Boards of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Visiting Committee of Carnegie Mellon University, and the Sloan School of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in addition to serving as a trustee of various philanthropic organizations.
