June 2005
David Krueger, B-W’s Spahr Chair of Corporate Ethics who has been on sabbatical in Thailand, and Harry Bury, business professor emeritus, co-hosted a dinner in Bangkok in February for B-W International MBA program alumni. About 25 alumni, spouses and children attended.
The alums who attended are all working in the Bangkok area in the film, marketing, auto, accounting and management consulting industries.
After his Thailand visit, Dr. Bury traveled to Brazil to teach MBA courses at B-W’s sister school, FAE Business School in Curitiba.
Dr. Krueger’s sabbatical included teaching workshops at the International MBA program at Thailand’s Burapha University and interviewing business practitioners and academics for his continuing studies of international business ethics. He also spent four days in Hong Kong, where he forged a relationship with Hong Kong Baptist University; B-W and the Hong Kong college may now “exchange” students.
Another element of Dr. Krueger’s sabbatical was a visit to the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, which has a unique focus on the environment and “human ecology.” He is also interviewing faculty at Case Western Reserve University about how they integrate ethics into their courses.
