Health Care MBA Student Wins HEANO Award Scholarship

On May 25 the Healthcare Executives Association of Northeast Ohio (HEANO) recognized B-W graduate business student George Velez as the first-place recipient of its scholarship award.
 
Velez,  of Lexington, Ohio, is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration Health Care program at B-W.  He is scheduled to complete his coursework in December 2004. As a first-place recipient, Velez will receive a $1,000 scholarship to use towards his education at Baldwin-Wallace College plus a membership to HEANO.

With over 20 years in the United States Air Force and Ohio National Guard, Senior Master Sergeant Velez has had an extensive career in military service in both clinical and administrative roles. He is a Health Administrator for the 179th Medical Squadron, Ohio Air National Guard.

In addition to Velez, two other B-W graduate business students were runners-up for an HEANO scholarship.  Jason Augustyn, of Brunswick,  is a Senior Sales Professional with Watson Pharmaceuticals.   Joan Mason, of Westlake,  is president of The Gateway Group.  Both Augustyn and Mason are scheduled to complete coursework for B-W’s Master of Business Administration Health Care program in December 2004.  As runners-up, they received a membership to HEANO.
