The Sustainability Plan Clinic
What is the Sustainability Plan Clinic?
The Baldwin-Wallace College Sustainability Plan Clinic (SPC) is a community outreach program for local business owners and entrepreneurs in our region who are seeking guidance in implementing the principles and practices of sustainability to foster business development, job creation and growth. The SPC's primary goal is to help business owners integrate sustainable practices into their operations and business models and learn how to produce tangible outcomes to their bottom lines whether it is through social, environmental or financial performance.
Who works with the clients?
Student consultants, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, are trained in various aspects of sustainability practices. Students are selected based on their educational background, their passion for sustainable practices and their communication skills. The student and a lead consultant, who is selected from faculty and local organizations that have a passion for helping other business owners, will offer significant information and experience to help the business owner throughout the process.
What is the Sustainability Plan Clinic Process?
A client contacts the SPC to discuss their specific business needs. Each deliverable will be customized, comprehensive and specific for the client. Once the need has been assessed, a student and lead consultant are assigned to the client. The consultants will work with the business over a determined period of time, approximately three to six months, to define one or more components of their "triple bottom line." A client evaluation will be conducted through a formal assessment at the end of the project to measure how effectively the consulting teams address core components of sustainability outlined in the plan.
What does the service cost?
This is a fee-based service and the charge will depend upon the deliverable.
