Tom Clevidence

   Tom is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in business and higher education.  He possesses strong capabilities in general management and expertise in human resources and corporate philanthropy.  He has a strong record of growth and accomplishment working for an investment banking and brokerage firm, commercial banks, an international consulting firm, a privately owned entrepreneurial company and two institutions of higher education. 

 Tom currently serves as the Director of the MBA/EMBA programs at Baldwin Wallace College. Prior to joining the College he was the Regional President and a member of the Executive Committee for Qualigence, Inc., an entrepreneurial firm providing search research to executive search firms and corporations. Prior to Qualigence Tom served as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and a member of the Management Committee for Fifth Third Bank Northeastern Ohio and a Senior Managing Director and Director of Community Affairs and Human Resources at McDonald Investments Inc.  He also served as a member of the management committee of McDonald Investments, Inc. a premier regional investment banking and brokerage firm. 

Prior to joining McDonald Investments Inc. Tom worked in the human resources departments of Society Corporation, Ameritrust Corporation and the consulting division of Ernst & Young.  Previous to his business career, he worked 10 years in higher education at Baldwin-Wallace College and Kent State University where he worked in a number of administrative roles including student affairs, career planning and placement, fund raising, alumni affairs, and college relations. 

During his career Tom has worked for nine different organizations and experienced four mergers.

Tom has served in leadership roles in the community and professional organizations.  He is currently a member of the board of The Retired Senior Volunteer Program and a trustee and member of the finance committee of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Tom is the Chairman of the Business Advisory Council for United Cerebral Palsy in Cleveland and he has been a long time volunteer for the United Way of Greater Cleveland. He serves on the advisory board of Edward Luttner Associates and The Human Resources Group.

Tom and his wife Helen live in Medina.  Helen has taught elementary education in the Akron Public Schools for 27 years. They have three children:  Jennifer, age 27, Michael, age 25 and Katie, age 20 who is a junior at OSU and is Tom’s little Buckeye.
