The James M. Ruegsegger Scholarship is given to honor James Ruegsegger as one of B-W's most distinguished graduates. As a graduate of the class of 1922, he entered the world of medicine with a concern for others that is the hallmark of a B-W education. His effective research on polio, pneumonia, diphtheria, meningitis, and tetanus and his service to country earned him the Alumni Merit Award. It was Dr. Ruegsegger's decision to return to B-W a portion of his resources for this endowment to help future B-W biology students. Preference is made for a senior biology major who has excelled in biology and plans to continue studies in the biological sciences.
The Edward C. & Diane White Scholarship is an endowed fund that supports two separate awards, one of which is offered to outstanding students who will be attending medical school.
