Sabina Thomas grew up in Germany and received her Ph.D. from the Technical University of Berlin. Her fieldwork was done mainly in the Austrian and Italian Alps, and she completed some of her research in Paris and the US.
Sabina Thomas started to teach in 1991, first at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and now, since 2000, at Baldwin-Wallace College. Her interests are in physical geology and petrology, earth science education, interdisciplinary studies, GIS/GPS, and still in high mountains.
