By now you’ve taken full advantage of B-W’s experiential learning opportunities, and you’ve got real-world know-how to go with your classroom smarts. Now it’s time to graft those experiences onto your plans. We’ll help you take those final steps to make sure you’re putting your best foot forward.

Actions

Update your E-Portfolio

Make sure to keep your E-Portfolio up to date with your experiential learning experiences. Add documentation for things you may have overlooked earlier.

How far have you come?

Look back at what you have done at  B-W, both inside and outside the classroom. Consider how those experiences have contributed to your academic and personal growth, and how they have provided a foundation for your career or graduate school plans.

Share the experience

Discuss your B-W experience with your advisor and others and reflect on how your learning, growth and skill development have prepared you for a career or graduate studies. Visit your career advisor in Career Services and make sure you’ve captured your experience in the best way on your résumé.

Be of service

The Office of Community Outreach can help you identify service learning opportunities that earn academic credit. OCO also has a variety of non-credit options for those interested.

Be a leader now

You can add a Leadership minor or take Leadership classes at any point in your academic program. Be sure to consider these options.

Create and collaborate

The Faculty-Student Collaborative Scholarship program (FSCS) gives you a unique opportunity to work with a B-W faculty member on a scholarly, research or other creative project.

Explore an internship (or three)

Students who complete at least three internship experiences before graduation tend to be the most attractive applicants to potential employers or grad schools. Talk it over with your advisors.
